CONTEXT:-

INDIAN ARMY had started online registration of WOMEN for recruitment as Soldiers into the milio police.

DETAILS:-

# The moves comes three months after the Government announced the women would be Inducted into the Force in the personal Below Officer Rank (PBOR) Category in a graded rank (PBOR) Category in a graded manner to eventually comprise 20 percent of total corps of Military Police.

# So far , Women's are allowed in Select areas such as Medical , legal , educational signals and engineering Wings of the Army.

# Those appointed Under Person Below Officer Rank (PBOR) are given the responsibilities to investigate offences Such as Rape , Molistation and thift ; Serve Military operation Where The Army needs police Assistance ; in evacuation of Villages during Cross-border hostilities; and Ceremonial as well as policing duties.

ROLE OF MILITARY POLICE:-

# The Military Police is responsible for preserving goad order and discipline and to prevent breaches of the same by persons reving in or attached y regular Army.

# The role of the Military Police Includes Policing Cantonment and Army establishment, Preventing breaches of rules and regulations by Soldiers maintaining movement of Soldiers, as well as logistics during peace and War , handling prisoners of War and extending aid to civil police when required .

WHAT WAS THE CASE:-

# The verdict come on a nearly 10-years-old appeal Filed by Government against a March 12 , 2010 decision of the Delhi high court to Grant SSC women offices permanent Commission .

# The supreme court ordered the government to implement it's judgement in three months.

TYPE OF ENTRY IN ARMED FORCES FOR WOMEN:-

# SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION:-(this rule was before Supreme Court Judgements)

# Short Services Commission-ptovision provides as option of Joining the Army and Serving as a Commissioned Officer for 10/14 years. At the end 10 yeai, an Officer has following options.

* Either option for permanent commission 

                        OR

* Option out or have the option of a 4 Years extension . They can resign at any time during this period of 4 Year extension.

# PERMANENT COMMISSION:-(this rule is after the Supreme Court Judgements)

# Permanent commission means a carrier in the Army till the retirement Age , For Permanent commission the entry is through National Defence Academy , Pune or Indian Military Academy , Dehradun , Officers Training Academy , Gaya.
